Cinque Torri Cortina

5 torri cortina

The Cinque Torri are a fascinating mountain complex located in the Nuvolau group, within the enchanting Ampezzo Dolomites. In June 2004, one of the Cinque Torri unfortunately collapsed. Although it was one of the smallest, it was considered one of the most fascinating and loved by climbing enthusiasts. Today, what remains of this tower is leaning north-east from its original position.

During the summer months, the Cinque Torri offer the opportunity for exciting hikes in the woods and along equipped trails. Among the itinerary possibilities are the Alta Via n. 1 of the Dolomites, the majestic Giau Wall (which stretches along the border between the municipalities of Cortina and San Vito), the itineraries leading to the Nuvolau and the Giau Pass, as well as the historical route between the trenches of the First World War.

The Cinque Torri are a popular destination for both mountaineers and sports climbers, thanks to the wide range of routes of varying difficulty. In addition, there are also routes that require several pitches. From a historical point of view, the Cinque Torri have always been considered the rock gym of the Scoiattoli di Cortina, a famous group of climbers.
